Started learning Latin.
2007
Started learning Greek.
Started learning classical Arabic. With the resources available to me, I never got too good at it unfortunately.
2008
Graduated high school, went to Valdosta State University flippantly
Started studying Sanskrit. Resourses were weak, but got a good sense of the grammar.
2009
Used Linux for the first time as a daily driver (Ubuntu on the old GNOME 2). This was the suggestion of my roommate at Valdosta, Kyle.
Transferred to Georgia State University (in downtown Atlanta) to do a degree in International Economics and modern languages.
2010
Started my first website around this time. Wrote essays on it. It was not tied to my real name.
Started studying Chinese, first alone, but then later taking classes.
2011
Stupidly did not take up a free opportunity to study a year in Venice.
2012

Reinstalled Linux, (Ubuntu once the move to Gnome 3).
Visited China, took courses at Zhengzhou University
(December) Graduated GSU with my B.A.
2013
Had a full semester between graduating vs. when grad school started. Took time off, went to some conferences, did some serious reading. Mostly hung out at university (and sometime community college) libraries.
(Fall) – Started an M.A. in linguistics at University of Georgia.
2014
Taught my first classes.
2015
This small and pitiful apartment would be, in a year or so, where I would start my YouTube channel and make my first videos.
(Spring) Wrote a master’s thesis. Graduated from UGA.
(Summer) Started learning professional typesetting.
(Fall) Moved to Tucson, Arizona. Started Ph.D. program at University of Arizona.
2016
Linguistics Department, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona
(Fall) Decided to move into the country eventually (although did not immediately and remained in Tucson).
Put up my first videos on YouTube.
2017
Cloudland Canyon, Georgia, if I remember correctly.
2018
Southeast Linuxfest, Charlotte, North Carolina
Went to/presented at my first Linuxfest (pictured).
Moved to a cheap appartment in an obscure college town. Worked on YouTube and did a lot of reading.
